While our world has had quite the shift these past couple of months, your contribution to our 2019 Golf Tournament for Kuwasha in Kibaale, Uganda is having life changing impact. Here’s how your $1.2 million has already made a difference.

Midwives and staff at the Kibaale Health Centre were able to welcome the special delivery of twins!Construction was able to continue amid the strict, country wide lockdown that took place from March to May. The school renovations, the Timothy Girls dormitory expansions, and the hospital expansion, are almost complete!

The maternity ward is the most recent unit to be finished. Within days of it being prepped to open, the midwives and staff at the Kibaale Health Centre were able to welcome the special delivery of twins! The opportunity to give birth in a safe, clean, and comfortable place is rare in rural Uganda, yet crucial to increasing the chance of survival for the baby and mother.

There are no facilities like this in the community and the ones that are around, are far to get to without a vehicle; a luxury the most vulnerable families do not have. The list of positive benefits this clinic is having, and will have, is long. One example is that the clinic staff can provide proper treatment for mothers with HIV/AIDS, to help prevent the spread of the disease to the new baby. In a community where HIV/AIDS has stripped away a generation of parents, this is huge!
